Brunch in New York

A selection of the best brunches in NYC

Rating: ★★★★★
It’s the rule with every tiny treasure in NY. Prune is no exception : expect long waits and a crowd. However, trust us, it’s worth it.

The neighborhood is crazy about this restaurant thanks to the parisian vintage decor and home cooking. This very innovative and hearty new american bistro serves a wonderful brunch, maybe the best of the East Village/LES.

From the main menu, everything is tasty : fresh ricotta with rasperries, peach syrup, toasted pine nuts and honey (13$), egg « en cocotte » (12$) for « petit appetit ». We also like the Lower East Side Appetizer (23$) with smoked salmon, sturgeon, chubs from Russ&Daughters, assorted bread and garnishes. Try the terrific Monte Cristo, a triple decker ham, turkey and swiss cheese sandwich with fried eggs (15$).

Don’t forget to choose from ten variations on the Bloody Mary theme (10$). Prune is simply an unpretentious place where you immediatly fall in love.

Sat-Sun 10am-3.30pm.
