The atmosphere at the SoHo based 508 Restaurant & Bar is informal yet still chic and the dining style is casual. Their Sunday brunch menu includes Lobster Benedict, Eggs Norwegian, French Toast with Berries and Mascarpone, Ham and Swiss Cheese on Ciabatta, Egg Sandwich, and a 3 Egg Omelet with additional ingredients diners can choose to include.

Brunch at Agozar! – East Village – $25

With a name that means “enjoy”, Agozar! is a great place to have a fun brunch. This Cuban bistro has a delicious brunch menu which includes things like Sandwiche Cubano with shoestring fries, Eggs & Vaca Frita, and Huevos Rancheros. There are also tapas plates of Chorizo, Albondigas, Flautas, Torta de Frijole, and Camarones al Ajill. There are also delicious mohitos which are available with several different flavors.

Brunch at Alfama – Midtown East – $17

Alfama is a modern restaurant on 52nd Street that offers Portuguese and Mediterranean cuisine. Their weekend brunch menu includes pancakes in a Port wine reduction and topped with strawberries and bananas, freshly roasted granola, a basket of breads and pastries baked in house, a traditional Portuguese sandwich, and their signature 6 ounce burger.

It’s the rule with every tiny treasure in NY. Prune is no exception : expect long waits and a crowd. However, trust us, it’s worth it.

The neighborhood is crazy about this restaurant thanks to the parisian vintage decor and home cooking. This very innovative and hearty new american bistro serves a wonderful brunch, maybe the best of the East Village/LES. Read the rest of this entry »

Located on Staten Island, Alor Café is a trendy place to dine. Their décor is stylishly European and their brunch menu includes Crab Double Decker sandwiches, Breakfast Pita Pockets, Avacado Breakfast Burritos, Gourmet Vegetable Omelettes, Chorizo and Potato Egg Bake, Breakfast Chicken Schnitzels, Royal Crepes, Carrot Cake French Toast, and fresh fruit salads.

Amity Hall is the only beer hall in all of Manhattan and it also happens to serve a delicious brunch on weekends. Their menu features Goat Cheese & Chive Scramble, Huevos Diablo, Garden Herb Omelette, Grilled Shrimp & Avacado Sandwich, Belgian Vanilla Bean Waffle, House Cured Salmon, Scratch Made Scones, and the Which Came First Caesar Salad.

The Sunday Champagne Brunch at Arabelle Restaurant is a lavish and elegant affair. The restaurant is located within the Hôtel Plaza Athénée and has a delicious buffet spread which includes Vanilla Brioche French Toast with Fresh Berries, Roasted Tomato and Asparagus Omelet, Blueberry Pancakes with Chantilly Cream, and Steamed Lobster.

Located in Murray Hill, Artisinal is a French fromagerie, bistro, and wine bar. Their a la carte weekend brunch menu includes Fluke Ceviche, Soft Scrambled Eggs, Pork Belly Hash, Almond Croissant French Toast, Gouda & Stout Fondue, Foie Gras Torchon, Sautéed Skate Wing, and Country Pâté. A prie fixe option is also available for $28.

Asellina is an Italian fine dining restaurant located in the ever busy Flatiron District. Their weekend brunch spread includes Italian Toast with ricotta and poached pears, Wood Fire Baked Eggs, Egg White Frittata with asparagus, Swordfish Carpaccio, Baked Eggplant Tortino, Mozzarella di Bufala Pizza, and Saffron Strozzapreti.

DuMont is the go-to spot for brunch in the upwardly mobile Lorimer stop section of Williamsburg, which during a earlier era was considered East Williamsburg (the pioneering DuMont opened a decade ago, before anyone really wanted to live there). These days, it’s a secondary main drag to the Bedford stop and the crowds are about interchangeable, though Dumont is less likely to draw curious Manhattanites. Read the rest of this entry »

Sanctuary T is a slightly misleading name for a restaurant with the sound and energy found in this bustling Soho teahouse during weekend brunch. The concept aims to combine a serene, removed setting with the full-service experience New Yorkers have come to expect.  This works during the week with thinner crowds, when you can really appreciate the restaurant’s clean yet warm design.
