On the road to the perfect brunch, we make a stop at this popular Scandinavian address. The prix-fixe menu is $48 per person. Not acceptable ? Let’s see at the end of the adventure…Round one, welcome to somewhere between Stockholm and Copenhagen. The decor mostly consists of dark wood with contrasting white accents. Modern and sophisticated !
Round two, the chef Marcus Samuelsson knows how to give you a « Smörgasbord » experience. It begins with the herring. Definitely try the vodka lime and grainy mustard or curry-apple.
Then arrives the « king », the cold smoked salmon, just delicious with horseradish sour cream. No one spoke while eating this masterpiece. But it’s not the only treasure : swedish meatballs and sausage with lingonberries, potato casserole with cream and anchovy, pork shank, potatoes/bacon hash under a fried egg and cheese quiche… The choices will make you happy.
With the Danish Mary made with Karlsson’s Gold vodka included in the menu, it’s gorgeous ! Among the desserts, you can top off your meal with an assortment of cookies and pastry, a princess cake or a fresh fruits salad.
You guessed it…This brunch is just a delightful experience to try at least one time with a last drink of aquavit, like the coconut and espresso or the white cramberry (7$). A perfect end ! You thought that $48 was too much? Not for this delectable experience.
